To ensure your fabric looks great wash after wash, we recommend the following:
- Pre-wash your fabrics before making any items. Pre-washing should be done at the temperature the garment is going to be washed at. We recommend always washing at 30 degrees.
- By pre-washing the fabric, you ensure the natural cotton fibres shrink before cutting out your garments, instead of after you have made them. Pre-washing helps to reduce the chance of colour run, wash similar colours together. Many fabrics will have a small amount of shrinkage on the first wash but it is usually minimal and under 10%
- Washing on a cool setting helps keep the colours in the best condition, and will prolong the life of your garments. Use a gentle setting if you need to wash above 40. Line drying, inside out, is the best way to preserve your items, but you can tumble dry on low when necessary.
- Wash your items inside out. This helps to prevent your fabric bobbling and getting damaged on other items in the machine. Ensure you wash your fabrics, and garments in a wash free of towels, jeans and garments with abrasive components, such as zips, buttons and other fastenings.
Your fabric will be in one continuous piece.
Different screens and monitors may show colours differently, we always try to ensure the colour in the image is as true to the real colours as possible, but we cannot guarantee this due to how your screen may depict the colours.
